The SE5 is one of the most iconic fighters of WWI, yet it’s rarely modeled in any scale for RC. The E-flite® SE5a 900mm is a conveniently sized replica that offers unmatched scale detail, modern-day conveniences, features, and technologies to deliver truly unexpected levels of flight performance! It’s capable of slow and smooth scale flying plus basic aerobatics – and if you crank up the throws, it’s also capable of surprisingly aggressive aerobatics, including snaps, “pop tops,” and more. This makes it more fun for intermediate to experienced pilots to fly than any other SE5 model!

It features a variety of scale details, including molded-in ribs, radiator and exhaust details, machine guns and pilot figure with a scarf, plus optional-use elastic flying wires. Functional features include large scale main wheels and a hidden steerable tailwheel, along with wings and struts that bolt and snap into place for easy assembly and disassembly. Yet it’s sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly and so it can be flown at large parks, sports fields, and RC flying fields. The factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos provide precise and reliable control at every speed. And the power system includes a Spektrum™ outrunner motor and an Avian 45-amp Smart Lite ESC compatible with popular 3S and 4S 2200-3200mAh batteries. The BNF Basic version is also equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver featuring exclusive and enhanced AS3X+® along with optional-use SAFE® Select technologies. Plus, both versions are factory-finished in the classic Royal Flying Corps two-tone with roundels trim scheme.

Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.2m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the SE5a 900mm BNF Basic version.
